We are thrilled and delighted to welcome Flossie Malavialle to Ruthin AllStyles.
The first time I saw Flossie was at Rhyl Folk and Acoustic Club where the audience fell in love with her mellifluous voice and beautiful guitar style.
Engagingly entertaining, this lovely French singer, who has made her home in the U.K., also brings a smile with fascinating tales of how and why she came to leave the warm climes of Languedoc-Roussillon in southern France to live on the southern slopes of Newcastle upon Tyne
Her accent when she speaks is mesmerizing. I cannot think of a more bizarre combination of French and Geordie but it is strangely beautiful.
It’s “très bien, like”!
There is not a hint of Geordie in Flossie’s singing voice however as she delivers a wonderful mix of contemporary and traditional covers of Folk, Country, Irish and, of course, French songs.
Jayne and I have seen Flossie on a number of occasions since and never tire of her music. This is a concert you really must not miss. Her rendition – in French – of that famous Édith Piaf number will leave you with no regrets whatsoever.
The evening will begin with a short round of floor spots by a variety of local singers who will deliver a broad mix of Folk, Blues, R&B and Country, followed by two fabulous 45 minute sets from our guests.
