As part of Ruthin Festival Week we proudly present… Virginia Kettle.

Yes, the very same Virginia Kettle of Merry Hell fame will be performing an Intimate Solo Concert in the welcoming atmosphere of our cosy little club at the heart of the beautiful Vale of Clwyd.

Virginia’s connection with Ruthin AllStyles goes back way beyond her long-established role fronting Merry Hell, alongside brother-in-law Andrew Kettle, having played here during the club’s early years at The White Horse. Performing back then as Virginia Barrett, she opened for none other than Kevin Dempsey and Joe Broughton of The Urban Folk Quartet.

She is a prolific songwriter of course and we look forward to hearing a fine blend of covers and original material including many of the familiar numbers that Virginia has written for Merry Hell.

The evening will begin with a round of floor spots by a variety of local singers who will deliver a broad mix of Folk, Blues, R&B and Country, followed by two fabulous 40-minute sets from our guest.

The venue
The function room at The Feathers Inn is ‘seated with tables’. There is a separate well-stocked bar with guest ales. Tea/coffee is available. Disabled access and plenty of nearby parking. And if you want to stay over, The Feathers also has beautifully appointed rooms available at reasonable prices.

We have a limited number of tickets available for non-members to join us for this event, in the cosy and intimate atmosphere of our friendly club. Why not join our mailing list to be among the first to know when the tickets go on sale.

Tickets will be at the highly subsidised* price of £5 (available from WeGotTickets six weeks before the event)
Members concessionary tickets are available at The Feathers on any club night..

* Ruthin AllStyles is a not-for-profit club. Ticket prices are considerably lower than might be expected because a portion of the door money collected on our weekly Singers’ Nights helps subsidise the cost of engaging professional musicians for these special events. By the same token, members who attend on a fairly regular basis and make this possible by contributing to club funds, need only pay their usual concession.

Please note, floor spots are limited in number on concert nights, which begin with a round of spots by a selection of Ruthin AllStyles Regulars.

Doors 7.00pm, music starts at 7.30pm.
