Singers’ Night with Almost Blue, jazz, blues and swing duo

This week’s AllStyles Folk & Acoustic Singers Night is to feature something a little different.

Wendy Eastwood has teamed up with pianist Andy Murtagh to form a new piano/vocal Duo called Almost Blue.

You will arrive to find Almost Blue already playing quietly in the background, creating the sophisticated ambience of a jazz club or a hotel lounge bar. They will be playing from about 7.45pm, so simply turn up a little earlier if you’d like to soak up more of this lovely atmosphere.

Then at 8.15, our normal floors spots will commence, providing the broad mix from Folk to Blues to R&B, from Country to Celtic to Charts that attracts performers and audience members from all over the Vale of Clwyd and beyond.

After the mid-evening break, Almost Blue will open the second half with a performance of their signature set comprising jazz, blues, swing and bossa nova classics from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Billie Holiday, Wendy’s stylish vocals complemented perfectly by Andy’s sensitive piano playing.

This will be followed by more floor spots to round off the evening.
