Nice as it is to ring the changes, there are one or two acts that we are always pleased to welcome back every couple of years or so.
One such is the Chester based trio, Welcomme, Finnan and Chrimes, and we are never disappointed as Frank, Andy and John are guaranteed to give us a fabulous evening of uplifting entertainment, with musicianship and energy that belies their not so tender years.
With the three of them alternating between various guitars, banjos, accordions and the double bass, they have a repertoire of brilliant covers from artists as diverse as The Beatles, Paul Simon, and Procol Harum as well as a whole host of favourites from the British and American folk scene. They even cover a couple of Merry Hell songs in their set including Virginia Kettle’s beautiful ballad “Arundale”.
The venue
Obviously. the Covid-19 pandemic has put paid to us meeting up at The Feathers Inn, so this will be our 27th week of presenting the club nights online. Tune in here, or on our Facebook group where you can join in with the banter.
