Stephen kicked off the proceedings with Your Mother Should Know before paying homage to John Lennon with Crippled Inside. Then Joe took us on the Ferry across the Mersey for more of his Liverpool favourites.
Ros did Red Red Wine. She didn’t sing it; she just attempted to make Jayne look more festive!
Chris was in Bob Dylan mode and John sang about Memphis in June a la Annie Lennox.
It was nice to see Cath back again and lovely to hear her Joni Mitchell numbers.
Next up was The Degny Duo, Tom and Lynda. They got all Misty before breaking into their old favourite Ring the Bell.
With Neil on guitar, Enid also went all Annie Lennox on us with Universal Child, then the Elvis balad Cant Help Falling In Love, before a beautiful version of the Beatles’ Yesterday translated into Welsh.
Peter told us It’s good to be back Home Denver style and then produced a couple of Tom Paxton numbers out of the bag.
Harry and Richard provided the finale set, accompanied by Mark on bass and multi-instrumentalist Tom. Richard sang Chuck Berry’s You Never Can Tell, To Love Somebody, and Tulsa Time. Harry gave us She Thinks I Still Care and All of Me, before ending the night with Tambourine Man.
Next Thursday is the night before All Hallows’ Eve. Maybe we should have a witch flown in to spell-bind us! (I’m not joking)
